Saturday Morning Quantum* in Chicago (SMQ*) is connecting high school students in Chicago Public Schools with Fermilab science and inspiring the next generation students to join the field of high energy physics, specifically centered about quantum physics and engineering. This 10-class series is led by subject matter experts highlighting special topics and Fermilab career opportunities. Successful completion creates possible pathways to internships and is a unique experience for college application portfolios and resumes.
This program series will include tours of the Fermilab campus, the Superconducting Quantum Materials & Systems (SQMS) Center, and the Lederman Science Center. These tours give students and their families the chance to get hands on with quantum exhibits, see the authentic research labs, and explore the Fermilab campus.
