Energy and Ecosystems: Prairie, Water, and Woods teacher workshop

Learn biological principles and how to use standard ecological measurement techniques to teach students to investigate, assess and compare these different habitats.

About the teacher workshop

Through discussions, hands-on investigations, classroom assignments, and other activities, participants are encouraged to explore a variety of topics as they relate to three different ecosystems. Program materials prepare teachers to guide students toward a better understanding of the dynamics of nature. Lessons on energy cycles, resilience, and biodiversity prepare students to investigate interdependent relationships among organisms within prairie, water, and woodland ecosystems. Lesson materials also cover biological principles and how to use standard ecological measurement techniques to investigate, assess, and compare different habitats.

This workshop is presented in partnership with University of St. Francis.

Participants may choose to enroll in the workshop for graduate credit through University of St. Francis.  This course is offered at three graduate credits available from the University of St. Francis for an additional $300.

Registration and additional information will be posted soon.
